Ashtanga yoga focuses on a specific sequence of postures (asanas), which are linked through movement (vinyasas) and breath (pranayama). This practice engages the internal locks of the body (bandhas) and involves deep breathing (sometimes called ocean breath), which are used to assist the regulation of the energy flow or life force (prana). Ashtanga is an athletic style of yoga combining strength, flexibility and stamina for a complete practice.   It’s a transformative experience that produces deep internal healing. Ashtanga practitioners usually practice everyday.

This workshop is uniquely designed to introduce beginners to this classical form of Yoga in a safe, supportive way. This workshop is designed for those who want to discover the basics of Ashtanga. It is noncompetitive and includes people of all ages.
